নমস্কাৰ (Hello)
The Assamese language is the easternmost member of the Indo-Aryan (Indic) language which evolved in the 7th century AD having its roots from Sanskrit. Assamese is the official language of Assam state of India. It is spoken around 20 million people in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura states of India, and also in Bhutan and Bangladesh countries. History says that Assamese literature also existed before the 14th century for there is evidence of a rich heritage of traditions including pastoral ballads, festival songs, folk songs, and religious hymns.
The Assamese language has been affected in vocabulary, phonetics, and structure by Tibeto-Burman dialects in the region. The grammar of the Assamese language is noted for its highly inflected forms, and there are also different pronouns and noun plural markers for use in honorific and nonhonorific constructions. There are no grammatical gender distinctions in Assamese
